What do the different shapes in Visio represent?
RE: Visio
Hello Sandra,
Hope you enjoyed your Visio training last week.
Thank you for your question regarding the various shapes within Microsoft Visio.
As you know from your training, shapes are grouped together in STENCILS. Stencils usually contain shapes that are related to a particular type of drawing. So for example, flow chart diagrams would use the Flow Chart stencil, which contains various shapes relating to flow charts. You can say the same thing for other types of diagrams, such as techical drawings like floorplans and engineering drawings.
Within FlowCharts, there are several default shapes - Process (Square) and Descision (Diamond). These would be used to represent different aspects of the a work flow diagram.
I hope this resolves your question. If it has, please mark this question as resolved.
If you require further assistance, please reply to this post. Or perhaps you have another Microsoft Visio or Microsoft Office question?
Have a great day.
Regards,
Richard
