To hide a single sub-task

Hi,
How do I hide a single sub-task, which is on the same "level" as several other tasks? Is there a "hide" button for the task row, as per Excel format?

Thanks!

RE: To hide a single sub-task

Hi Danielle

Thank you for your question. There isn't a per line hide feature but you can still achieve this result using filters.

Insert a Flag column (e.g. right click on the name column and insert Flag1)

Alongside the row you would like to hide set the Flag value to Yes.

At the top of the flag column click the little filter triangle and filter to show No values.

This hides the row in question.

Lastly Right click on the flag column and choose hide which removes the column from view.

the filter will remain in place, even though the column is not visible.

Please bear in mind that anyone could unhide this column to see the missing information - so this approach is ideal for printing.

When you want all the rows back on display just press the F3 Key on the top row of your keyboard - which sets project to showing all tasks again.

Let me know if this helps.

Kind regards,
Andrew

MS Project tip:

Inserting Task Durations Quickly

When entering durations for your tasks simply use the single letters - m for min, h for hr, d for day, w for week, but mon for month. If default is set for days, you need only type the number, for example 3 for 3days, or 0.5 for half a day.
