What is the shortcut for "Trace precedents/dependents" in Excel 2010?

RE: Formulas

Hello Samantha,

Hope you enjoyed your Microsoft Excel courses with Best STL.

Thank you for your question regarding shortcuts for trace precedents/dependents.

If you click on a cell containing a formula and use the shortcut CTRL+[ your cursor is taken to the precedent cell. Keep pressing CTRL+[ until there are no further precedent cells to be found. Pressing CTRL+SHIFT+{ will highlight all the precedent cells at once.

Click a cell that you know is part of a formula and use the shortcut CTRL+] and your cursor is taken to the dependent cell. Pressing CTRL+SHIFT+} will highlight all the dependent cells at once.

Please note that this method does not show the blue line with arrow plus surrounding blue rectangle.

I hope this is what you were looking for.

If it is, please mark this question as resolved.

If you require further assistance, please reply to this post. Or perhaps you have another Microsoft Office question?

Have a great day.

You can transpose any range of cells, turning the columns into rows and the rows into columns. Just follow these steps:

Select the range.

Click the Copy button on the Standard toolbar to copy it to the Clipboard.

Select a cell outside of the range you copied.

Select Paste Special from the Edit menu.

In the Paste Special dialog box, click Transpose, then OK.
