Microsoft Project

How do I allocate resources to projects?

RE: Microsoft Project

Hi Katie

Resources are created on the resource sheet (View > Resource sheet). There are a number of ways of assigning them for example you can double click on a task and on the resources tab choose a resource to work on the task.

Resourcing in Microsoft Project is quite a big subject. For example MS Project can change the durations of your tasks when modify the number of resources working on an activity.

We cover assigning resources on our intermediate course. You can find more details here:

Do let us know if you have any other questions regarding MS Project.

Kind regards,
Andrew

MS Project tip:

Email a Task

When you need to communicate important information to your project staff use Microsoft Project 2003 to send them a note using outlook or an e-mail system.

1.In a task sheet, select the task or tasks which you want to send a project note.

2.On the File menu, point to Send To, and then select Mail Recipient (as Schedule Note).

3.Under Address message to, select the recipients of your note.
