How can I look up all elements which start with a certain common letter (ex: East1, East2, East3 and show all East)

Thanks for your post, sorry its taken me a while to get back to you
To do this what you will need to do is a custom filter so when you go into your auto filters, what you choose is a custom filter, then pick from the list begins with and type in the letter you need, if you want to do 2 lots of things, then make sure you click the OR option before you click OK

Excel tip:Formula for last day of monthIn some cases it is necessary to find the last day of a month for a given date. If you use the following formula, you can achieve this, ie; if you have a column of dates, use this formula to find the end of month for each day by using the fill handle.
