VLOOKUP

How can I look up all elements which start with a certain common letter (ex: East1, East2, East3 and show all East)

RE: VLOOKUP

Hi Christian

Thanks for your post, sorry its taken me a while to get back to you

To do this what you will need to do is a custom filter so when you go into your auto filters, what you choose is a custom filter, then pick from the list begins with and type in the letter you need, if you want to do 2 lots of things, then make sure you click the OR option before you click OK

Hope this does the trick

Excel tip:

Formula for last day of month

In some cases it is necessary to find the last day of a month for a given date. If you use the following formula, you can achieve this, ie; if you have a column of dates, use this formula to find the end of month for each day by using the fill handle. The formula is as follows, and assumes in this example that the first date in question is in cell C5, in any other cell type; =DATE(YEAR(C5),MONTH(C5)+1,1)-1
