Microsoft Project

assigning resources to tasks and tracking costs related to those resources

RE: Microsoft Project

Hi Craig

When you create a resource and allocate a cost rate to it Project will work out how much that resource will cost when you assign it to a task.

One way to assign a resource to a task is, in the Gantt view, choose window > split. Click on the task you wish to assign resources to. In the lower left part of the form at the bottom of the screen you can now choose your resources for this task. Clicking on OK will then assign them.

I hope this helps - do let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Kind regards,

Andrew

MS Project tip:

Autofit column width – Project (all versions)

At the top of the columns where each column name is located (Task Name, Duration, etc.), hover over the vertical column line which you want to move.

A short bold vertical line will appear, with horizontal arrows pointing left and right.

Left click and hold this icon and it will permit you to grab the column line, allowing you to move it left or right to your desired location.
