MSP text formatting
1. How do I change bar text format please? (I don't see how when using the bar styles dialog box.)
2. What's the best way to change task text format for each level of WBS?
Thank you!
RE: MSP text formatting
Hi Stephen
To change the text beside the bars try this
In a task view such as Gantt chart go to Format > text styles and then from the dialog box that appears click beside "all". Scroll to the bottom of the list to find the controls for bar text (bar text - left etc.)
With regard to your second question. I'm not aware of a way to automatically do this. Also the formatting beside each bar is not set on a task by task level - so you can format the text that appears to the left of an object but it affects all text in that position for all tasks, regardless of their indentation or WBS level.
One work around might be to modify the text of the task name. Try the following.
Build your plan indenting your tasks in line with your work breakdown structure.
Insert a new column with the field Outline Level.
Hide your summary tasks (Tools > Options > View then remove the tick from Show summary tasks)
Turn on auto filter (project > filtered for > auto filter)
In the header column of your recently inserted Outline Level column click on the drop down arrow and filter for your first level.
Select the rows and from the format menu choose Format bar
(nearly there....)
From the format menu choose font and pick the colour you would like to apply for this level.
Repeat the process for each level
I hope this helps - do let us know if we can be of further assistance.
Kind regards,
Andrew
