How do you make sure everything is formatted the same?

I am using Visio and really need to make my flow chart look the smae throughout, so culd I please have some advice how to format it the same.

RE: How do you make sure everything is formatted the same?

Hi Keely

Thank you for your question.

If you have a Visio diagram where you wish to have consistent formatting (e.g. shape colour, border colour, font style and size) then one of the easiest ways of achieving this is by using the format painter.

If you format a shape using the colour, border colour, font size and style you want, then click the format painter button (looks like a paint brush), then click on another shape which you want the same formatting applied to, you should find the second shape you selected has the same formatting as the first shape you selected.

If you want to use format painter to transfer formatting to more than one shape, double-click on it and then you will be able to click on and transfer formatting to more than one shape. When you have finished just click the format painter button once.

Format painter is also available in other applications and does the same thing.

The other way you can format multiple shapes to look the same is to use Ctrl + A (this selects all shapes at the same time) then choose the colour etc you want to apply to the shapes.

I hope this is useful to you.

Amanda
