Absolute cell reference
Hat is the most efficient way to set absolute references in a table?
RE: Absolute cell reference
Hi Celene
Thank yuo for your question about setting an absolute reference in an Excel Table.
As you know from your training, there are 4 variations when it comes to referencing in Microsoft Excel.
H2 - relative refernce
$H$2 - absolute reference
H$2 - mixed reference
$H2 - mixed reference
When you copy the cell references above in a formula, they would change according to the type of reference you use.
To set absolute or mixed referencing, you can either:
- type it in manually, O
- use the F4 key
To use the F4 key, simply put your cursor on the H2 in the formula and then hit F4. Press it many times and see how they referencing changes accordingly.
Kind regards
