Recording Macros and applying button

RE: Macros

Hi Manish

Hope you enjoyed your weekend!

Great to meet you on Friday last on my course.

How to set up Macros?
As a reminder, you need to think about what you would like to achieve with the macro first. Then turn on the Macro Recorder, through Tools menu, Record New Macro.

1) Type a name for the macro.
2) Decide if you require a shortcut key.
3) Decide if you want this Macro to be available in This Workbook or New Workbook. If you require the macro to be available in all workbooks choose Personal Macro Workbook.
4) Type a description for the Macro, then click OK.
5) With the Macro Toolbar displayed on your screen the actions you now take with the mouse and keyboard will be recorded.
6) Once you have finished recording, choose Stop Recording on the Macro Toolbar.
7) To play back your macro, either press the shortcut key set up earlier or go to Tools menu, Macros, choose your Macro and click run.

To Assign a Macro to a button

1) Turn on your Forms toolbar, via View menu, Toolbars.
2) Click the 4th icon - Forms button
3) Click on draw a rectangle on your worksheet.
4) When you release left mouse button the Assign macro box will display.
5) Choose the Macro that you have just set up from the list.
6) Your macro will now be assigned to the button.
7) As you point to the button you should see a finger icon, click on button to run your macro.

Hope this helps Manish
Take care
Sandy
