Recalculating a protected worksheet
Hi,
Please can you let me know if protecting a Worksheet will effect recalculation of it?
We use an Excel Add-In called Vision to access our Sun database financials. We have the recalculate set to Manual to save recalc time and we then recalc by selecting F9, Shift + F9 or the Vision Recalc options of a selected Range, W/book or W/sheet.
Basically we want to protect certain (formula driven) fields from being changed but still what the user to be able to recalculate the w/sheet or w/book.
Thanks
RE: Recalculating a protected worksheet
Hi Karen
Thank you for your question.
As long as the cells you want people to be able to edit do not have protection applied, then the recalculation should still be carried out when you press F9 (for example) even if the cells containing formulas have protection applied to them.
I hope this helps.
Amanda
