"Read-Only"

Sometimes when I open the Timesheet Spreadsheet it shows that someone else is using or even that I already have the file open it, so it's just possible open as "read-only", but in fact no one really have the timesheet open it nor even myself. Basically we need to "save as" different name everytime this happens.

1) Why this is happenning?
2) How can I fix this problem?

Thanks in advance,

RE: "Read-Only"

Best guess: you've got a version of it still open in your "temp" folder. This happens when the computer crashes. Temp files are created as a matter of course to aid functions such as "Autosave" but when the computer crashes the temp file is not closed down. If several users are opening the file from different PCs, delete everything in their temp folders (on the c:\ drive) and see if that works.

Excel tip:

Sorting data stored in rows

Primarily Excel is set up to sort data that is stored in columns rather than rows.

It is possible to get Excel to sort data stored in rows however.

Click in the row you want to sort, or select the cells in the rows you wish to sort.

Go to Data - Sort, then go to the Options button in the bottom left corner of the Sort dialogue box.
