Powerpoint

I did the course on PP 2010/13, ahead of our move to new offices/equipment next year.

However, I am still using PP 2007!

Is there a hierarchy chart option on here with templates, like the one on PP 2013?

If not, what's the easiest way to create a multiple box chart?

Thanks
Stacey

RE: Powerpoint

Hello Stacey,

Thank you for your question.

The hierarchy chart is a SmartArt option which you will find on the Insert ribbon, in the Illustrations group.

This is the easiest way to create this type of chart.

RE: Powerpoint

Thanks Cindy

When I go into this though, it sits on the background slide.

I basically want to make a baisc text hierarchy chart with about 3-4 boxes on eaxh row (about 4 rows)

Thanks
Stacey

RE: Powerpoint

Hello again Stacey,

...it sits on a background slide? What if you were to try and create the chart in a new blank presentation. you could then copy the slide and paste it wherever you want.

Alternatively, you could insert shapes (Insert - Illustrations - Shapes), positioning and connecting them (with a line shape) manually.

Hope this helps, but get back to me if it doesn't.

Kind regards

Cindy

PowerPoint tip:

Animating charts imported from Excel

Once you have imported an Excel chart into a Powerpoint slide, it is possible to apply animation to individual components (e.g. each bar) of the chart.

Click on the imported Excel chart, then go to Draw - Ungroup on the Drawing toolbar (usually located at the bottom of the screen).

A message will appear warning that ungrouping will change the chart into a different type of object - click Yes, then go to Draw - Ungroup again.

You should now see the chart has been broken up into all its individual components.

Right-click on a component that you wish to apply animation to; then select Custom animation and apply animation using the task pane on the right of the screen.
