Hi I am new to microsoft solver has any one used it for ABC costing modules ? It seems to have the basic functionality to do this analysis. Any Tips?

Thanks for getting in touch. I confess ABC costing was a new phrase to me; however searching around the internet I can ind a few examples of people using it in conjunction with Solver. The following link had quite a good worked example, starting from page 14:

Essentially if you can assemble your data into constraints (defined limits for costs, resources available, time to elapse etc.) you should be able to build a model in Solver that resolves to an answer. Working out what your constraints are and making them explicit to Excel is usually the hardest bit.
