Words wrapping in sentences

Is there a way to turn off word wrapping? I am typing some text in a text box and instead of pushing the word to the next line it cuts off inbetween. eg. instead of "room" going to a next line, it is showing:
"ro
om"

I have tried to clear all styles in case this is the issue, but its not working. Also it won't allow me to use the Shift F3 function to capitalise the sentence. It flickers as if it is acknowledging I am doing something, but other than that its not recognising the ALL CAPS short cut.

Thanks

RE: Words wrapping in sentences

Hello Dianne,

If I understand your question correctly, you are talking about either the hyphenation setting or wrap text options.
If wrap text, right click the text box, select Format Shape, Text Box and untick the Wrap text option.

Hyphenation is a paragraph format. Select the paragraph inside the text box, right click and choose Paragraph. From the Line and Page Break tab in the dialog box select the Don't Hyphenate option.

I hope this resolves your question. If it has, please mark this question as resolved.

If you require further assistance, please reply to this post. Or perhaps you have another Microsoft Office question?

Have a great day.

Word tip:

Change the default font in Word

The default settings for all new documents created in Word are stored in the Normal template, Normal.dot.

To change the font for the Normal template, start a new document then go to Format - Font.

Change the font settings to reflect the font and font size you would like to use in future in most or all of your documents.

Click the Default button in the bottom left-hand corner of the Font dialogue box. Click Yes when the message associated with the font change appears on your screen.

You have now changed the default font for all new documents created from this point forward.
