Excel charts

i have created a chart and it is sittingon top of the excel page. i want to copy and paste it to a Word doc and a ppt doc. how do i do this please.

also i want to place the chart on a separate sheet. i have tried the dialog box to do this but it does not work.

RE: excel charts

Hi Greg

Thanks for your question

To copy the chart into a word or powerpoint file, simply select the chart and copy to the clipboard. You can then go to the word document and then use the paste command to place it in the file. If instead of paste, you choose paste special-paste link, then any changes made to the chart in Excel will automatically update in word.

To set the chart into its own chart sheet. If you select the chart, then the format context ribbon will appear. At the extreme right of that ribbon is the location button. This allows you to choose to place the chart in its own sheet

Hope this helps

Stephen

THANKS STEPHEN.
I HAVE DONE BOTH THE SUGGESTED IDEAS BUT THEY DO NOT WORK FOR ME. AM I DOING SOMETHING INCORRECTLY?

RE: excel charts

Hi Greg
That is difficult to answer without seeing exactly what you are doing. Could you email me a copy of the file, and I will see if the above strategy works for me. I may also be able to see where you are going wrong
