do you have to create a pivot table from an existing spreadsheet or can i create one straight in this format?

RE: Excel

Hi Lianne,

Thank you for your question.

When you're creating a PivotTable you will either need existing Excel data with column headers so that you can select the range for the PivotTable to use or the data can come from an external data source, i.e. an alternative data source on your network, however the data must already exist.

I hope this resolves your question. If it has, please mark this question as resolved.

If you require further assistance, please reply to this post.

Excel tip:

Recently used file list

Under the File menu, you may find a list of files at the bottom of the menu. These files represent the most recently used Excel spreadsheets. This file list provides a quick way for you to access your files.

You can disable the file list feature of Excel. This is done by

1. Choose Tools > Options menu. You will see the Options dialog box.
2. Ensure the General tab is selected.
3. Make sure the Recently Used File List check box is cleared.
4. Click on OK.
