Filtering by Colour

Hi,

Is there a way I can filter a list by the colours of the background cells?

For example, I have a list of 100 data entries, some of which are coloured in a red background. Is there a way I can filter out just the red cells in that list?

Many Thanks,
David

RE: Filtering by Colour

Hello David,

Hope you enjoyed your Microsoft Excel courses with Best STL.

Thank you for your question regarding filtering by colour. It appears that you are using Excel version 2003 which unfortunately does not provide an easy way to filter by background cell colour. This could be done though using VBA programming. If you wish to find out more about this aspect of Excel, please contact our office by phone and we will be happy to help you with your enquiries.

Version 2007 & 2010 both allow for filtering by colour of font or cell background using the autofilter option.

I hope this resolves your question. If it has, please mark this question as resolved.

If you require further assistance, please reply to this post. Or perhaps you have another Microsoft Office question?

Have a great day.
Regards,

Rodney
