Excel 2007 Rows and Columns
Is it possible to delete most of the rows & columns of a worksheet to have only a small fraction of the worksheet left for use? I have a spreadsheet consisting of many worksheets and the size of my spreadsheet has reached 3MB and I need to reduce the size of this file. Would it be possible to delete rows & columns to achieve this? If so, how can I delete these extra rows & columns?
Thanks, Oksan
RE: Excel 2007 Rows and Columns
Hi Oksan, thanks for your query. There can be many reasons for large Excel file sizes and just deleting unused rows and columns won't do the trick. However, if those unusued rows and columns have actually been data formatted they will contribute to the file size. Work arounds for this problem are too numerous to list here but have a look at this link:

Hope this helps,
Anthony

Excel tip:Page Break Preview in Excel 2010 (Hint/tip)If you select View then Workbook Views then Page Break Preview, you will be able to view how your Excel spreadsheet will be split across multiple pages when printed. Even better, you can also drag a page break to a new place. Excel will then scale down your entire worksheet to fit the information you want on the pages you want. |
