Excel

Hello,

in Excel 2003 you could add custom buttons, assign macros to them, which I used to set up a suite of custom formatting buttons which I could access anytime from my personal workbook.

I can't work out how to do this in Excel 2007. I assume that if at all I would be able to add buttons to the quick access toolbar and assign macros to these buttons but can't work out how to add custom buttons. Could you advise if it is possible, and if so , how?

thanks

RE: Excel

Hi David

Thanks for your question. You are right in saying that the Quick Access Toolbar (or QAT) is the place to add buttons for your macros. To set this up click on the small double arrow pointing down at the end of the QAT. From the list that appears choose "More Commands". You will see at the top of the dialogue box there is a drop down currently labelled "Popular commands" Click on this and from the drop down you will see there is a Macros item in the list. Choosing this will allow you to pick your macros and add them individually to the QAT.

I hope this helps - do let us know if you have any further questions.

Kind regards,
Andrew

Excel tip:

Saving your Excel Spreadsheet as a CSV File

In situations where you need to save your Excel spreadsheet as a CSV file, follow these simple steps.

Click the File tab and click Save As.
Enter a name in the File name field.
Click the drop-down arrow next to the Save as type field to select the file type. Scroll down the list and select CSV (comma delimited) (*.CSV)
Click Save

The data will now be saved to a separate CSV file which can be used in different applications.
