Picking out one word from a phrase
During the training i remember that we touched on a function that would allow you to pick out one word from a column that contained several. The example that we did involved picking out just someones first name and putting that in a new column.
What was the transaction, i can't find it in the documentation!
Many thanks
Eoin
RE: Picking out one word from a phrase
Hi Eoin
Thanks for your question
The tool you are probably looking for is Text to Columns, which is located on the data menu
Select the cells that contain the data and run text to columns
Select Delimited and click next
Select the separator character (in the example you give a space)
Click Finish
Hope this helps
Regards
Stephen
