Extracting data from project into Excel
During the course we went through how to extract data from Project and importing it directly into excel. However, i cannot remember how to configure the report to show me how to show week by week planned progress information. How can i achieve this?
Thanks
RE: Extracting data from project into Excel
Hi Richard,
Thank you for your question.
We looked at using filtering. Select the filtered for option under the Project menu and choose Date Range. Enter the earliest and latest dates.
Alternatively you can use the Autofilter option which appears at the bottom of the Filtered for menu and produce a custom filter.
If you have a baseline saved you can change your view to tracking gantt. Then either use Save as Excel or copy and paste what you see by clicking on the button which is at the intersection between the row and column headings. Then copy and paste special as a project object.
I hope this answers your question.
Regards
Simon

MS Project tip:Inserting Task Durations QuicklyWhen entering durations for your tasks simply use the single letters - m for min, h for hr, d for day, w for week, but mon for month. If default is set for days, you need only type the number, for example 3 for 3days, or 0.5 for half a day. |
