What is the formula to use to calculate square feet/metres? I can't find it in the formulae ribbon. For example how yould you calculate the area of 5.2m x 2.9m ?
Thanks

RE: Excel
Hello Wendy
Thank you for your question and welcome to the forum.
When you create a formula, you can't refer to cells that have a combination of numbers and letters in them - Excel can only use cells that have numbers only in them to figure out a result for you.
What I would suggest is putting 5.2 in one cell (e.g. A1) and 2.9 in another (e.g. B1).
Then in a third cell put in your formula =A1*B1
I hope this helps.
Kind regards
Amanda

Excel tip:Do a fast scrollIn big Excel databases with many records, you can move down thousands of rows super-fast as follows: hold down Shift then click on the scrollbar somewhere below the scrollbar handle. This will move you way down the sheet without your having to use the scrollbar up/down arrows or drag on the scrollbar handle. |
