How do you save something as read only so that no one else can rename your file?
RE: saving excel sheets
Hello Vicky
Thank you for your question and welcome to the forum.
You can make a file read-only using Windows Explorer (i.e. Windows XP or Vista).
To do this:
1. In Windows Explorer, right-click on the file you wish to make read-only.
2. Select Properties.
3. Under Attributes, tick Read Only.
4. Click OK.
Now when the file is open, changes made to it can only be made by saving the file with a different file name.
Kind regards
Amanda
