Excel unblock

Hi all.

I have an excel file with some cells containing Hypertextual URL links.

These links are opened by a macro but sometimes the internet site is slow because it is down or in overload and excel crashes.

I try pressing esc button but it doesn't work, the screen become white and everything stops.

I was arguing if there is a way to unblock excel in these cases or maybe a code that I can insert in the macro so that it stops the loop after 10 seconds.

Thank you

RE: Excel unblock

Hi there

Thanks for your post. As you have identified there are a host of issues that can cause your spreadsheet to crash.

We would really need to have a sample of your spreadsheet to evaluate along with a brief description of the main issues you are facing.

If we are confident that we can find a solution this will fall under a consultancy service and we will be able to confirm scope of work, duration and costs.

If you wish to proceed with this route, please advise.

Regards

Jacob

Excel tip:

Return to the active cell after scrolling

When I scroll a long way down the screen from a selected cell, I can return to that cell with the Ctrl+Back Space shortcut. The active cell now appears in roughly the middle of the screen.

Shift+Back Space does something similar. Scroll down from the active cell and Shift+Back Space returns me to it and puts the active cell at the top of the screen; scroll up from the active cell and Shift+Back Space returns me to it and puts the active cell at the bottom of the screen.

Note also, that while Ctrl+Back Space will return me back to a selected range, Shift+Back Space only ever returns me to the active cell, which is normally at the top left-hand corner of any selected range.
