How do you link Excel charts and tables to other proggrammes eg. ppt or word.
What is the easiest way to run these two programmes together?

RE: Charts and tables

Hi Liz
Thanks for the post - sorry for the late response

You can easily link to programs together and there are 2 ways to do this

1. You can copy the data from say Excel then in PPT what you need to do is go to the home ribbon and under paste click paste special then choose paste link (make sure excel object is clicked then click OK

2. from the program you want to insert object like PPT go to the insert ribbon choose object - then click create from file then click browse find the file and double click it, then click link to file and click OK

Hope this is clear for you, if you need more help reply to this post

Excel tip:

Checking formulas with multiple operators

When dealing with formulas containing more than one operator (+, -, /, *), Excel follow standard BEDMAS order of operation rules. These rules specify the order that calculations will be performed in, regardless of how the formula reads left to right:

B = brackets
E = exponents
D = division
M = multiplication
A = addition
S = subtraction

It should be noted that multiplication and division are considered equal; as are addition and subtraction.

If you would like to check the order in which Excel is performing calculations in a formula, simply click on the cell containing the formula. Then go to Tools - Formula Auditing and select Evaluate Formula.

In the Evaluate Formula dialogue box that appears on your screen, click the Evaluate button to see how Excel calculates the formula result.
