Workbook Charting
Hello,
I have a report with two tabs in the same workbook. The first tab contains the raw data and the second tab contains 11 charts pertaining to that data.
the data in tab1 is updated each month showing the current months results and the previous 5 months, 6 months in total. The charts on the 2nd tab also include 6 months data.
I currently manually update the data in tab1 and the manually update the 'Series' in each of the charts in tab2.
Q1. Can I set this up so that the charts auto update each month when I update the raw data?
Q2. If so, can you tell me how this can be done?
Many thanks
Regards,

RE: Workbook Charting
Hello Deorne
Thank you for your question and welcome to the forum.
I presume that the data on tab 1 is not always in exactly the same cells each time, as you are adding a new month's data in, hence the reason why you need to manually update the Series tab for each chart.
I would think that it would be possible to automate this process, but it would requiring writing VBA code in Excel to accomplish this.
This is something we could assist with, but on a consulting basis therefore it would be billable time. If you would be interested in exploring this option further, please contact our enquiries team (see following link for ways to contact):

If you are doing a lot of work in Excel that you feel could be automated, it might be worth considering taking our 2 day Excel VBA course:
