How do you view headings/side headings when inputting large amounts of data.
I need to ensure data from 1 sheet adds up with data from another.
RE: Excel - Freeze panes and 3 D Formula!!
Dear Mona
Thank you for attending Excel Intro course.
I hope you are enjoying the course and benefiting from it.
I believe that you have two questions.
The answer to your first question about viewing row/column headings is Freeze Panes.
Important thing to remember about Freeze panes is that all the columns on the left hand side of the selected column gets frozen the column you select and all the rows above the selected Row gets frozen.
But if you want both the rows as well as columns to be frozen then you need to be on a specific cell. If you are on cell B6 and choose the Freeze panes then Rows 1 to 5 will get frozen and Column A will get frozen simultaneously.
To Freeze columns or Rows you choose Windows > Freeze Panes from the menu bar.
To add data from one sheet to another you need to create a 3 D formula which is not very difficult to do.
You click on the sheet and the cell you want the result on.
Then you press =
You click on the first sheet and the cell where the data to add is.
You press +
Then you click on the other sheet and the cell that has data.
After that simply press Enter and the cell will provide you with the result.
The above two topics along with many other are covered in our Intermediate level course please click on the link below to see what other topics are available:
