Accessing access
Today we have had a problem with more than one person being able to access the database.
When I am in the database, and my colleague tries to look something up he gets a message saying something like 'the administrator has put this database into a state where it cannot be accessed' (or words to that effect).
Why is this happening? We have been able to have more than one person in it before, just that no changes can be made. In fact today my colleague was in it and then I went in fine, although I couldn't save any changes until he came out.
Please enlighten!
Thanks!
RE: Accessing access
Hi Nancy
Before I make suggestions for solving this problem could you please answer some questions.
How are accessng the database, through a desktop icon or opening the database from within access?
Do I nderstand correctly that if you are not the first one into the database you can both open the database?
Do you have login or security on the database?
Regards
Laura GB

Access tip:Space marksIt is good practice not i to have space marks for field names as this can lead to problems when using queries or VBA code. It is much better to use an underscore charcter to represent spaces in field names |
