How do you link projects?

RE: Linking Project

Hi Mo

Thanks for your question. A quick way to join to projects together would be to create a new temporary project. From the insert menu choose project... and select the first project. Repeat to select the second project. With both projects in one file you can drag links between the relevant tasks to create links. When you have finished close and save the temporary combined project and at the prompt agree to save the sub projects. You can now see links in each of the sub projects and if you no longer need the temporary combined project file it can be deleted.

Hope this helps - let us know if you have any further questions.

Kind regards,
Andrew

MS Project tip:

Using the Quick Access Toolbar in Project 2010

The Quick Access Toolbar is included in virtually every Office product, including Project 2010 as well as Outlook 2010, Word 2010, Excel 2010, and PowerPoint 2010.

You will find the Quick Access Toolbar in the top-left side of the window. To begin, click the Customize button (it's the little black arrow at the end of the toolbar).

Simply click the commands you want to include.

Virtually any command can be added to the Quick Access Toolbar. Click the More Commands option and a new window will open from where you can browse the commands including those not on the ribbon.
