MS Project 2007

Is it possible to have each person on a team with a project that then links into a team project? Could that then be linked into other separate projects?

RE: MS Project 2007

Hi Darren,

Thank you for your question.

You can create indivdual projects for each team member and create a master project for the whole team where you can link all the projects together. To do this you can use the Insert Project command.

Any changes made to the indivdual team projects will automatically update the master team project.

This master project could then be inserted into a overall company project.

I hope this answers your question.

Simon

RE: MS Project 2007

Hi Simon, thanks for your reply. Does this mean whoever that everyone on the team would need to have a version of Project installed? If they need less functionality would it be possible to install 2003 (possibly cheaper) rather than 2007 for them and have them link into my version of 2007?

thanks,

RE: MS Project 2007

Hi Darren,

Thank you for your response.

All the team members would need Project installed.

If I was you I would create copies of the projects and test it out before you try it but in theory there shouldn't be a problem.

If you are using 2007 you can view 2003 files but it doesn't work the other way. So people using 2003 can't open 2007 files.

I hope this answers your question.

Regards

Simon
