Should a work resource only have two out of every five working days to spend on a project, how do I set the resource to express this on a gantt chart?
RE: Microsoft Project
Meg,
If you would like to set up a resource so they are only working two out of five days per week, you would need to alter their Resource Calendar. To do this:
1. Click on >View, >Resource Sheet
2. Click on the resource name that you would like to alter
3. Click on >Tools, >Change Working Time
The resource calendar will appear for this resource. You can now modify this calendar to dictate what days they will or will not be working.
To my knowledge, there is no way to actually have a resources non-working days appear on the Gantt Chart. You could however, leverage the Resource Usage view. By examining the Remaining Availability for that resource in the TimePhased portion, you would see when this resource has Time Available or not.
Hope this helps!
