what is a pivot table?

RE: excel

Hi Chris

Thank you for your question

A pivot table takes data in the form of a simple lists and allows cross referencing of the data in the various columns.

For example if you had a stock list, with columns for (among other things) product name, product colour and items in stock; you could create a pivot table with colours as column headings, product names as row headings and total of each in stock as data items.

Regards

Stephen
