If a cell password protected and i need to enter a long name than allow. What's the best to get around it
RE: Excel
Hi Graeme,
Thank you for the post, welcome to the forum, in the situation you are describing you will have to remove the password protection on the cell before you can enter any information. However what I think you are looking for an answer to, is the Validation option when a limit has been set to the number of characters that are allowed to be entered into a cell, in this case you would need to open Data>Validation and from the drop down arrow Allow, choose Text length and enter your new required length, I hope that helps, regards Pete

Excel tip:Activating the formula bar with the keyboard in Excel 2010The formula bar in Excel 2010 contains a number of different formulas. However, it is time consuming to open the formula bar every time and insert the formula using the mouse. Instead, you can activate the formula bar with the keyboard. Simply press the F2 button on the keyboard then the information in the cell will expand allowing you to edit the information in the cell. |
