MS Project

How can you access a project plan in a different version of project than the one you have on your desk/lap top

RE: MS Project

Hi Donna

thanks for your question. Opening project file that has been created in a different version of Project can be tricky. You should find that plans created in earlier versions of the software than the version on your computer should open fine. Later version however may not be opened so easily. To resolve this Microsoft sometimes create updates for applications that allow them to read documents created with later versions. For example here is information on the update to Project 2003 that allows it to open Project 2007 files
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/project/HA010450201033.aspx

I hope this helps - let us know if you have any further questions.

Kind regards,

Andrew

MS Project tip:

Giving Someone a Gantt Chart Snapshot

To pass on a picture of a Gantt chart segment, choose the appropriate view, select the rows to be included, then click on the camera icon and select For Screen. The graphics image can be pasted into another document. (See Paste icon forn Project 2010)
