Lead times
can you explain more about laed time, lag and negative lags.
RE: Lead times
Hi David
Thank you for your question
Lag time is where there is delay between the start or finish of a predecessor task and the start or finish of its sucessor. For example if 2 tasks are linked on a simple finish to start basis, and if the sucessor cannot start until 2 days after the predecessor is complete, then the relationship has a two day lag.
Lead time is the reverse of lag time. Imagine in the above example that it was possible to start the sucessor task not when the predecessor is complete, but when it is 50% complete. In this instance the relationship has a 50% lead. In MS Project lead times are entered as negative lags.
Hope this is useful
Regards
Stephen
