Pivot tables

If I create a pivot table using database from month-end, the following month, can I overlay new data so that the table simply refreshes? Or will excel just freak out with the new data?

RE: Pivot tables

Hi Rita

Thank you for your question.

The data range that you use to create the pivot table can have changes made to it which can then be shown in the pivot table.

You can try this out, if you create a pivot table, then make changes to some of the figures within the data range that the pivot table is created from.

To update the pivot table data, you can either right-click in the pivot table area and choose Refresh, or use the Refresh (!) button on the Pivot Table toolbar.

This will overwrite the 'old' data with the current data from the data range which the pivot table is constructed from.

I hope this helps.
