RE: IF statements

Dear Nick

Any version prior to Excel 2007 has a limit of 7 IF statements that can be used.

Excel 2007 Microsoft has increased it to 64 IF Statements.

Normally it is suggested that you use VBA coding if you have more than 7 If Statements that you wish to use in the same cell.

But there is, however, a way around using more than 7 If Statements without the knowledge of VBA by using the naming ranges.

Please post your specific question containing more than 7 If statements and I

Excel tip:

Creating custom lists

In Excel if you type in January in a cell, you can then copy this cell to replicate Febraury, MArch, April etc.

This list has come from Tools- options and Custom lists.

Therefore to save time and create your own list you can click on New (in Tools and custom list tab) and type out the lsit that you want copied quickly.

All you have to do is then type in the 1st word and you will be able to copy the rest of the list quickly.
