Can i move my Project calendar entries to my outlook diary at all?

RE: Presentation

Hi Neil

It's easier to bring your Outlook tasks to Project. From the Tools menu choose Import Outlook Tasks. To send tasks in the other direction you would first have to export them into a format that Outlook can recognise.

From the File menu choose save as and from the format drop-down pick a format such as CSV and save. From the wizard choose new map and from the next screen make sure Task is selected. Choose next and select the fields you would like to export. To speed up the process click on base on table and pick the entry table from the list. Choose next and finish.

From Outlook you will need to choose your tasks folder and follow the import process to bring your tasks in.

Note that although task information can be brought into Project it isn't syncronised so that changes in your plan do not automatically arrive in Outlook and vice versa.

Project Server provides more direct tools to connect Outlook with your Project plan.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Kind regards,

Andrew

MS Project tip:

Using the Quick Access Toolbar in Project 2010

The Quick Access Toolbar is included in virtually every Office product, including Project 2010 as well as Outlook 2010, Word 2010, Excel 2010, and PowerPoint 2010.

You will find the Quick Access Toolbar in the top-left side of the window. To begin, click the Customize button (it's the little black arrow at the end of the toolbar).

Simply click the commands you want to include.

Virtually any command can be added to the Quick Access Toolbar. Click the More Commands option and a new window will open from where you can browse the commands including those not on the ribbon.
