There are a number of ways to allocate resources to tasks. Arguably the easiest method is to select the GANNT screen view and then click on Windows-Split Screen

This results in the bottom half of the screen showing the task information sheet, synchronized with whatever task is selected in the upper GANNT chart view. You can then use this view to allocate resources to the tasks selected.
