Dear Richard,
In reply to your email, my boss told me that the way to do a percentage in excel for me to work out how much the rent is for the current month is to do =1785+1785*3/100 and this will give me the correct answer to how much the rent actually is factoring in the amount..
The answer you gave to me told me how much 3% of 1785 is, i needed excel to calculate the sum of the actual rent as it would be for me.
I just wanted to clarify this with you, im not sure if i explained it properly or you got the wrong end of the stick.

Excel sees 3/100 and 3% as the same thing. Either way works.
