Consolidating Data

How does this work ?

RE: Consolidating Data

Hi Amanda

Thank you for your question, and apologies for the delay in response.

The idea of consolidating data this that you can create a summary spreadsheet of more than one spreadsheet. It is easier to use if the data on each spreadsheet that you are summarising is in the same cells on each sheet.

The summary spreadsheet can give you totals, averages, minimums or maximums (amongst other things) for the spreadsheets you choose to summarise.

I hope this helps to explain.
Amanda

Excel tip:

Saving your Excel Spreadsheet as a CSV File

In situations where you need to save your Excel spreadsheet as a CSV file, follow these simple steps.

Click the File tab and click Save As.
Enter a name in the File name field.
Click the drop-down arrow next to the Save as type field to select the file type. Scroll down the list and select CSV (comma delimited) (*.CSV)
Click Save

The data will now be saved to a separate CSV file which can be used in different applications.
