Cells

How do you change the colour and thickness of the selector cell.

RE: Cells

Hi Khuram,

Thank you for your question.

To format border & colour of a cell:

  • 1 - Select your cell(s);
  • 2 - FORMAT menu > CELLS > BORDER tab
  • 3 - Select a thickness & colour to add on border
  • 4 - Choose which line(s) to apply this border;
  • 5 - Switch to PATTERNS tab & choose a colour for the cell;
  • 6 - press OK to view the result

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Katie

RE: Cells

Hi Katie,

Im wishing to change the colour of the cell selector (THE CELL THAT YOU CAN MOVE AROUND WITH THE ARROW KEYS), not just a cell.

RE: Cells

Hi Khuram

The cell selector in Excel is always Bold Black.

I have looked around and haven't found anything that allows the user to change the colour

Regards

Carlos

RE: Cells

Hi, Katie,

Thanks for your reply but I dont want to change the colour of a fixed cell. I want to change the colour of the selector cell, the cell which is controlled by the mouse or cursor keys. :)

RE: Cells

Hi Khuram

You seem to have missed my reply.

The cell selector in Excel always shows as Bold Black.

I have looked around t6he web and a few expert books and haven't found anything that allows the user to change the colour of the Selector Cell.

Carlos

Excel tip:

Hiding Formulae in the Formula Bar

It is possible to protect the contents of a cell reference(s) from amendment by applying cell protection. The contents of the cell reference can also be stopped from displaying in the formula bar.

Step 1: Select Format > Cells > Protection.

Step 2: Tick Hidden option. Ensure Locked is ticked

Step 3: Select Tools > Protection > Protect Sheet

(Ensure "Protect worksheet and contents of locked cells" is ticked)
