How to set up macros

RE: Macros

Hi Ahmed

Hope you enjoyed your weekend!

Great to meet you on Friday last on my course.

How to set up Macros?
As a reminder, you need to think about what you would like to achieve with the macro first. Then turn on the Macro Recorder, through Tools menu, Record New Macro.

1) Type a name for the macro.
2) Decide if you require a shortcut key.
3) Decide if you want this Macro to be available in This Workbook or New Workbook. If you require the macro to be available in all workbooks choose Personal Macro Workbook.
4) Type a description for the Macro, then click OK.
5) With the Macro Toolbar displayed on your screen the actions you now take with the mouse and keyboard will be recorded.
6) Once you have finished recording, choose Stop Recording on the Macro Toolbar.
7) To play back your macro, either press the shortcut key set up earlier or go to Tools menu, Macros, choose your Macro and click run.

Hope this helps Ahmed
Take care
Sandy

Excel tip:

Recently used file list

Under the File menu, you may find a list of files at the bottom of the menu. These files represent the most recently used Excel spreadsheets. This file list provides a quick way for you to access your files.

You can disable the file list feature of Excel. This is done by

1. Choose Tools > Options menu. You will see the Options dialog box.
2. Ensure the General tab is selected.
3. Make sure the Recently Used File List check box is cleared.
4. Click on OK.
