RE: errors
Hi Lynne
Thank you for your question.
Trace Precedents can be used to help troubleshoot where an error in a formula may have arisen from.
Trace Precedents is a button on the Formula Auditing toolbar, so you will need to display this toolbar on your screen. Then select the cell containing the formula producing the error; and click the Trace Precedents button.
What you should see is that a series of arrows will appear on the spreadsheet, indicating which cells are providing data to the cell with the erroneous formula.
If you click the Trace Precdents button a second time, this should show you which cells are providing data to the cells indicated by the first set of arrows.
Once you have been able to determine what is causing the error, you can remove the arrows from your screen by clicking the Remove All Arrows button on the Formula Auditing toolbar.
