Acces - Query out of other queries

I have made many different queries out of one table. Could I make one new COMBINED query out of these?

Important to know is that these queries are all in a way formed that they are 'grouped', so totals are summed up together.

Thanks

Adrienne

RE: Acces - Query out of other queries

Hi Addrienne

Irrespective of how a query was created the system allows you to create new queries that call upon other queries.

When creating new queries you can use Tables, Queries or a mixture of both.

So to do this:

1. Create new Query in design view
2. In the Show Table Dialog box
3. Click the Queries tab
4. Select the queries to be used in the new query
5. In the Tables tab select any table if required

Finish designing the Quey as normal

When this new query is run the system will run the queries involved and from these results buid the final result.

Hope this helps

Carlos

RE: Acces - Query out of other queries

Hi Carlos,
Thank you for your response. However I'm afraid it didn't solve my problem. Let me try to make my question more clear.

I need to make a report that will show all the outcomes of various queries. The queries I've build have all a calculation of the records with the same City name, since I've created them all by using the 'Group by' option , choosing 'Count'.

This was necessary to get a in Query 1 PER CITY how many x we have. And in Query 2 PER CITY how many y happened. etc.

My initial thought was to create a combined query, but in a way that these calculations of records per city continue to exist.

But everytime I try to combine these queries in a new query the calculation doesn't work.

Would there be another way in getting all these calculations together in one overview.

Could I for instance build a report adding information from the multiple queries? In that way avoiding that I need to make a new Combined query?

I really hope you can help!

Thanks

Adrienne

Adrienne

I need to look at this closely.

It would help if you could send me the database so I could look at the queries.

If U can, send it to

Access tip:

Deleting duplicate records from a table

You cannot delete records tables where there duplicate records. A way around this is to create a new table which wont hold the duplicates. and then deleting the old table.

1. Use a make-table query based on this table only. IMPORTANT - Ensure that you include all of the fields from your original table or you may loose data.

2. Open the query's property sheet by using VIEW, QUERY, PROPERTIES, and set the Unique Values property to Yes

3. Because you have selected the Unique Values to Yes when you run the query, Access creates a new table without duplicate records. You can now delete the old table and rename the new one.
