Strange box

i have a box that inserted itself around one of my tables of data in alarge spreadsheet that I now cannot remove - showed it to the trainer but he couldn't work it out - worth mentioning this is on a mac perhaps?

RE: strange box

Hi Jess,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

Did you figure out what the box was?

Sometimes a 'print area' box can appear when you print, or do a print preview; indicating the page breaks or what will be printed.

If it's not this, a screen capture may help us figure out what it is.
To capture the entire screen, press Command+Shift+3.
To capture part of a screen, press Command+Shift+4.
(These are then stored on your desktop as new image files).

Attach the pictures/s to an e-mail and send to forum AT stl-training.co.uk. Please quote the URL of this forum post so we can track down this post.

If you figured out what the box was, I'm sure your fellow delegates and forum readers would love to know what it was (and please mark this question as 'resolved').

Regards, Rich

Excel tip:

Turn off AutoComplete in Excel

You may have noticed when typing into your spreadsheets that if you start to enter labels that begin with the same letters as a label that has been previously entered in the same spreadsheet, Excel will try and automatically complete the text for you. This feature is called AutoComplete.

If you find this feature more annoying than useful, you can turn it off by:

1. Going to Tools - Options.

2. Select the Edit tab.

3. Remove the tick from next to the "Enable AutoComplete for cell values" option.

4. Click OK.
