Limitation on number of rows

A have a large amount of transaction data which I wish to manipulate but I cannot fit it into the 65536 rows available in Excel - is there any way of adding further rows beyond the 65536 already there?

RE: Limitation on number of rows

Excel cannot handle more data than the max rows. The next step would be to use MS Access, as it can handle more data.

RE: Limitation on number of rows

I agree with Richard, Excel up to version 2003 only has 65,536 rows, and perhaps Access is the way to go, however if you must use Excel, then version 2007 has many more rows, in fact I got up to nearly 200,000 rows and gave up, my scroll wheel was getting too hot.

Excel tip:

Change the Default Width of All Columns in Excel 2010

If you want to change the width of the columns in your Excel 2010 spreadsheet, making them either larger or smaller, here's how:

In the Cells group on the Home tab, click Format.

Hover over the section called Cell Size and a drop down list will appear, select Default Width from this list.

In the Standard Width dialog box, enter the size you want to set as the default width and click OK.
