Pivot Tables

How do I link these to data in third party programs?

RE: Pivot Tables

You need to be able to connect to the 3rd party data as a DATA SOURCE.

Use DATA > IMPORT EXTERNAL DATA > IMPORT DATA

This will list all the data source names.

Create a new one, by clicking on the top of the list, and identifying the
NAME
DRIVER
DATABASE LOCATION

If all of those are successful, then you can use the source to create a pivot table, by choosing EXTERNAL DATA SOURCE on the first step of the Wizard

Excel tip:

Use Paint Brush to Format More than one Cell

To copy a format to many cells or ranges

1. Select the cell with the format that you want to copy

2. Double-click on the paint brush

When you move to the cell where you want to paste the format you will notice that a paint brush follows the cursor.

Paste the format to all the cells or ranges you need to format.

When finished go back to the paint brush on the tool bar and single click on it to deactivate the function.
