Importing Data
I am trying to reformat a text file into an excel file.
I have gone through the wizard and saved the file as excel but how do I change the format of general fields. I have a field that is formatted as General but I want to format it as a Number field so that I can perform calculations. I have tried to change the format of the field but it doesn't accept it?
RE: Importing Data
Hi David
Thanks for your question.
You might like to try opening your text file in the actual Excel application if not alrady doing this. File, Open change file type to text and opening it. Use the wizard when the data is brought back in. Remove any non number characters like $, spaces etc and try again.
Let us know if this.
